A message from our Pastor

2 Thessalonians 3:3

“The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."

As the virus takes hold again and the number of people infected grows every day, we are facing the possibility of a new lockdown. All these uncertainties can leave us feeling unsettled and frightened. The one certainty and solid foundation in our lives is our God; and it is Him who we need to focus upon, especially in these constantly changing times. We know that our Lord is faithful. Men may prove to be unreliable and untrustworthy. They may let us down or fail in their promises to us, but our God remains ever faithful. He is absolutely trustworthy and can be relied upon to do all that He has promised to do. He is steadfast and immovable; He cannot be thwarted and never needs to change His plans. He is dedicated and loyal to those whom He loves and never lets them down. When everything around us is changing the one constant in our lives is our Lord who is faithful.

Our faithful Lord has promised to establish us. He has set our lives upon that firm and permanent foundation that cannot be moved by all the chaos that happens around us; the Rock of Ages, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. So, the winds of change may howl around us, and the tempest may beat upon us; we may be knocked and bruised by life, but we will remain firmly fixed to that Rock, who will never let us go. This world will not overcome us.

And our faithful Lord promises to guard us from the evil one. And what a guard He is. He is the one who never slumbers or sleeps; who is ever guarding us night and day. He is the all-seeing and all-knowing one who watches over us with a tender love. He is the one who can, and will, fulfil all His purposes and plans for us so that all will work for our good; and no one, not even the evil one, will be able to hinder Him. The almighty is the one who guards us and keeps us; therefore, we are truly safe in His hands.

‘Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.
